This is the best breakdown of depersonalization/derealization that I’ve found. History, understanding in the medical community, symptoms, physiology, personal stories, ways to heal, etc., are all offered in detail in this book.
Man’s Search for Meaning
Viktor Frankl, the author, created a type of therapy that I think is lacking in today’s counseling service, which is called LogoTherapy. Logotherapy is founded upon the belief that it is the striving to find a meaning in one's life that is the primary, most powerful motivating and driving force in humans. Freaking powerful book! Written in 1946, Viktor Frankl vividly details his experience as a concentration camp at Auschwitz in WWII, which informs his philosophy. As a result of reading this book, my life focus changed.
Written in 1946 book by Viktor Frankl chronicling his experiences as an Auschwitz concentration camp inmate during World War II.
